Telling Time and God's Timing

By: Isis Valeria Martinez - VolunteerI volunteer in the pharmacy for the HGW medical brigades, as I am a pharmacist here in Honduras. It is a bittersweet experience, seeing patients with such needs and seeing volunteers who have such big hearts to help. I was moved to be very patient with each person, confirming they understood their medicines and how to take them. I had to confirm whether they knew how to read-- so they wouldn't mix up their medicines. If they couldn't read, I had to draw a sun and a moon to show them how to take their medicines twice a day.One day, I saw how God's timing is perfect. While taking a walk with other volunteers in a village at lunch time, we saw a car accident happen. A man with a disabled leg was driving very slowly, but he actually hit a pedestrian with his car. Our team assisted the woman to our clinic where she was examined by one of our doctors. Thankfully, she was not seriously injured and we were able to give her medicines to help with her pain. It was a blessing that we were there to provide such immediate assistance. I am very happy to be part of this dedicated team!
