Medical Brigade Applications Open
Medical Brigade 2023 Applications are now open! We really need nurses, pharmacists, dentists, translators, EMTs, and those who can help organize people or play with the kids! Please consider if God is calling you this year.
Dates and Early Team:
The main team will travel August 3-10, 2023. But we need a team of hard-working volunteers to travel early to Honduras on July 31. The government of Honduras is no longer allowing us to bring in prepacked meds, so this early team will spend 3 days packing the meds that we will ship ahead of time, or purchase in Honduras. We anticipate that several Hondurans will help in this effort, but we really need 8-10 at least, from the US, to make this year’s brigade a success. There will not be any extra charge for your 3 extra days of room and board. But you might get a lot of hugs!
Cost / Air Travel:
Our brigades are fundraising opportunities. As you know, everything is more expensive this year. You can set up a go-fund-me page or just have your supporters click on this link Medical Brigade Campaign to donate money to support your trip. Be sure they include your name in the comments box. Your fundraising goal should be $3000, which will allow us to cover most of the brigade expenses. A minimum donation of $2100 is required; contact us if you need support to provide the balance. A nonrefundable $50 deposit is required as soon as you apply, then another $1000 is due by April 28th with the balance due June 30th.
We have roundtrip seats reserved on American Airlines out of Austin, through Miami and on United out of Houston, so you will have the opportunity to fly out of either city. If you are interested in joining the early group we need to know as soon as possible to secure reasonable airline tickets.
