Medical Brigade 2022

Great News! We are planning a medical brigade this year to Honduras, our first since 2019. CoVid is slowing down in Honduras, like it is in much of the world, our villagers are mostly vaccinated, and at this point, it seems that it will be relatively safe to travel.  Our travel dates are July 10-17 from Houston to the newly opened airport at Comayagua, which is about a 2.5 hour drive from our Retreat Center destination.

The Board of Directors of Honduras Good Works has decided that the brigade shall be fully self-funded going forward. In past years we fund-raised to make up the shortfall in expenses. This year the price of the trip is $2100—for the first 40 people who sign up. We have airline seats reserved at a very good price for this group rate. If you register after the first 40, the cost of your trip may be adjusted upward, depending on the expense of the airline ticket at that time, (if tickets are available).

The cost for this year's trip is $2100. We need a $50 deposit as soon as you apply. The $50 deposit will be refunded if you are not selected to go for some reason, or if you cancel your trip before April 8, 2022. The first $1000 payment will be due April 30th, with the balance due May 31st. You can pay outright, or fund-raise with tax-deductible donations towards your trip. On April 8 we will release any seats that have not paid the $50 deposit. If you wish you may pay the full balance anytime.

Volunteers must be fully vaccinated for CoVid 19 to attend this brigade, and we highly encourage that you have received any booster shots that you are eligible for. We consulted with several medical experts and other organizations who do medical brigades in central and south America and all advised us that we should require volunteers to be fully vaccinated to join this brigade.   This is a medical decision to minimize as best we can, the risk to our patients and to our fellow volunteers.  The US government currently requires a negative CoVid test to return to the States. If this is still the case in July, we have a policy in case someone comes up with a positive test in Honduras and is not able to return with the group. Honduras Good Works will not be responsible for expenses incurred. You may read our "CoVid Policy In Honduras" HERE.

As always, we need physicians, nurse practitioners, EMTs, dentists, pharmacists and translators. We always need people who can drive 4-wheel drive, standard pick-up trucks over deeply rutted roads, and on narrow highways. We need musicians, pastors and people who like to play with kids. If God is calling you, we need you!

If you're ready, go HERE to apply.  Honduran volunteers, you will be invited to apply soon.  We need to find out how big the US team is first.  Thanks for your patience.
