Water Filter Program Update
Honduras Good Works collaborates with two other non-profits—CareLink and GT Water—to provide hygiene training and in-home water filters to rural villagers. Three trainers travel to a village and conduct three separate half-day training sessions for 15 villagers at a time; over two days, 45 villagers are trained. Small-group classes allow for one-on-one teaching and close supervision. Every two months, more villagers are trained and receive filters.
As the year draws to a close, we are blessed to report that we achieved our goal of providing 300 more families with access to clean water in the rural area of El Paraíso, Honduras. That’s about 1,500 more people with purified water in their homes. Our goal is to provide every home with a filter, one village at a time, so the entire community can stay healthy regardless of where families get their drinking water. This year, we have almost completed the village of Zarzal. The remaining five families will be included in our January 2026 training in the nearby community of Tablones.
These families show such joy and gratitude for a blessing most of us rarely think about: a simple water filter that transforms daily life.
Families share testimonials about how their children and elderly family members are more active, with fewer missed school days or workdays due to nausea or diarrhea. Hearts overflow with hope as they live healthier lives, and we are grateful to all of you for helping make this possible.
Our plan is to provide 300 more filters to families in FY 2026, building healthier communities in a sustainable way.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”
