MAY NEWSLETTER

This is the fourth in a series of newsletters intended to assist with your participation in Honduras Good Works Medical Mission Trip. Passports

By this point you should have your passport ready. If you haven’t already, please download your passport; go to Document Upload. This is due by May 15.

Payments

By now you have paid your non-refundable $200 deposit to hold your seat. If you have not paid your full mission trip amount, the next payment of $1,000 is due May 15 (includes the $200 Registration Fee). The final payment of $1,000  is due June 15. (Total for the Brigade is $2000, includes all previous payments)

Drivers

Those of you who have agreed to drive while in Honduras (you must know how to drive a standard transmission vehicle) must  have downloaded a copy of your driver’s license by now using our Document Upload page. If you are still intending to drive, please download  a copy your driver’s license immediately.

Packing Parties

Our next packing party will be at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmier Rd, Killeen, TX on May 5, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Feel free to bring snacks to share with others. Come for what time you can, and please invite your friends–we need lots of hands to make light work!

The packing party on June 2, 2018 will be at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church, 1420 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Feel free to bring snacks to share with others.

If another packing party is needed, it will be at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 2800 Trimmier Rd, Killeen, TX on June 30, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Team T-shirts

The May packing party will be your final opportunity to vote on a team t-shirt, which will be handed out at our final packing party. Votes are based on monetary donations. Please go to our home page ( hondurasgoodworks.org ) to view the t-shirts that we are voting on.

Hotel Rooms in Houston

A block of 12 rooms has been reserved for July 11 at the Red Roof Inn, 15675 John F Kennedy Boulevard, Houston, TX at $55.95 plus tax. There are 2 double beds in each room. To make a reservation call Red Roof Inn at 937.505.5996.

The blocked rooms are under Becky or Rebecca Sparks. Contact Becky at capt_sparks@hotmail.com to let her know if you have reserved a room and how many will be in the room. The blocked rooms with the guaranteed price of $55.95 each will be released by May 30.

If you reserve a room, you are responsible for the cost of the room. You can leave your car at the Red Roof for $8.00 a day. Should you leave your car there, you are also responsible for the cost of parking.

Please note that the van at the Red Roof Inn leaves every 30 minutes for the airport and holds about 12 passengers. Since there will be other guests who will departing for international destinations at the same time we do, it may be necessary for some people to leave earlier than others in order for all to be at the airport by 6:00 a.m.
